We are now a little over a week away from the arrival of the first season in Netflix’s traditional all-in-one episode delivery. So it seems fitting that the latest trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones is online.

Promising to be a darker, more mature yet still witty and entertaining series along the lines of fellow Marvel/Netflix series Daredevil, Jessica Jones finds Krysten Ritter as the titular former superhero, as created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos for the Alias comic book run.

Traumatised by a run in with the evil, mind-controlling Zebediah Kilgrave (David Tennant, playing the terrifying charm to the hilt), Jessica has foresworn the life of a conventional costumed hero, and now uses her strength and other powers as a private eye, while subjugating her PTSD via liberal applications of alcohol and casual sex. But when Kilgrave – who she thought had perished – starts to haunt her thoughts and her life again, Jessica realises that her past is something she can’t escape, and will have to face.

With Mike Colter playing follow powered type Luke Cage (with whom Jessica develops a close, if troubled bond, and who will be explored more thoroughly in his own Netflix series next year), Jessica Jones also features Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, Will Traval and Rosario Dawson. The first season hits in full on November 20. For a guide to all things Jessica Jones, do some detective work over here.
