With just about four weeks to go before Jon Favreau’s **Iron Man 2 **opens, three more pictures from the megablockbuster-to-be have been released… including a quick glimpse of Favs’ own cameo and a shot that indicates that this sequel could be barmier than previously expected.
Favreau can be seen in one shot as Happy Hogan – Tony Stark’s driver, who appeared briefly in the first movie – holding what we now know to be Stark’s suitcase armour. But why is Happy Hogan holding it? Is Tony in trouble? Where are those people behind him going?
The second shot sees Iron Man turning around. For some reason. No idea why. He doesn’t look happy about it, though. Couldn’t Stark at least build a smiley mask?

And the last shot sees Mickey Rourke’s Russian villain, Whiplash, natter on the phone, while two dead people can be seen hanging in the background. (Chance are Tony Stark isn’t one of them) Oh, and he has a cockatoo on his shoulder. That’s right – a cockatoo. A frickin’ cockatoo. For some reason.
To be honest, we’ve had high hopes for Iron Man 2 all along, but this shot is by far the most interesting thing we’ve yet seen from the movie. There’s a nutty, almost Bond villainesque vibe about it that’s both intriguing and exciting – has Favreau let Rourke off the leash in the same way he allowed Robert Downey Jr. to have his head in the original? If so, we could be in for an utterly bizarre, unconventional treat.
