If you watched The Defenders, you'll know that Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones' Danny Rand (AKA The Immortal Iron Fist) didn't exactly get on, and that Rand caught ribbing from most of his apparent allies. He will no doubt be hoping for a slightly warmer reception when he shows up on Luke Cage's Second Season.
The image of the pair, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly doesn't offer much of a clue, and indeed Marvel and Netflix are keeping details of how, why and what happens when the duo share the screen again to themselves. But given the comic book history of Luke and Danny working together, and their shared experiences in the miniseries, things may be a little friendlier this time. Everyone's excited to have Danny back, right? Right? Anyone?
There has been no announcement of when Luke Cage will be back on our screens, but we can expect it next year. In related Marvel/Netflix show news, The Punisher, which stars Jon Bernthal as vengeful, tortured antihero Frank Castle, has cancelled its panel at this weekend's New York Comic-Con in the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas earlier in the week. "After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s The Punisher to participate in New York Comic Con," the companies said in a statement. "Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy."
