A new poster has gone online for Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, the third movie in the animated movie franchise that, secretly, we’ve got a bit of a soft spot for.
That’s mainly because of the lovable sabre-toothed squirrel, Scrat, and so we’re glad to see that he’s been placed front and centre on this new poster, which features all the main characters looking rather tentatively into the mouth of an enormous terrible lizard.
While we’re quite looking forward to this, is anyone else beginning to feel rather morbid about the direction in which this franchise is heading? Clearly, the Ice Age itself is over, the dinosaurs are moving in, the Earth is warming up, and we’re beginning to resign ourselves to the fact that at some point Ray Romano’s Manny the mammoth and Denis Leary’s smilodon, Diego, aren’t going to make it.
Now, we’re guessing that Fox and Blue Sky Studios will never get to that point, as wiping out your main characters tends to upset the younglings, but still… doesn’t it bum you out knowing that EVERYONE IN ICE AGE IS GOING TO DIE?

Anyway, Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs is directed by Carlos Saldanha and will be released next summer. Please, do enjoy and try not to let that sense of creeping dread spoil your moviegoing experience.
