It's Fashion Week in Panem. The Capitol's fashionistas have added bold colours and outlandish boots to its bread-and-circuses sideshows in a fresh attempt to distract the populace from its woes. Delivering this whole Jeff Banks-meets-Joseph Goebbels vibe is a new Capitol Couture blog that's currently showcasing escort Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and media svengali Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) in all their finery.
Hot on the heels of propaganda-style posters of Peeta and Katniss's victory tour, the jumping-off point for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, these two new banners will be followed by others showcasing the movie's primary-coloured cast of schemers, manipulators and power-brokers. The tour doesn't last, as Katniss and Peeta are summoned back to the arena to endure another Hunger Games, tracker jackers and all.
For Jennifer Lawrence, now Oscar-garlanded of course, Catching Fire will be a big-screen victory tour in itself, although the famously down-to-earth actress herself is unlikely to see it that way. Calling the shoots on set is namesake Francis Lawrence, director of Water For Elephants or I Am Legend, who's guided the second in Suzanne Collins's book series to the screen.
Meanwhile, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone join Liam Hemsworth, Tucci and Banks in the 13 Districts. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is out in these parts on November 22.
