We may have had the allegedly final trailer (find it at the bottom of the page), but that doesn’t mean the promo department for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has fallen asleep and reverted back into the woodwork like the creatures from Bagpuss. The IMAX poster for the film is online courtesy of Badass Digest and you can take a look below.
Unlike more traditional one-sheets, IMAX campaigns tend towards the artier and unique, and this Hunger Games image is no exception. Inspired by the work of Kris Kuksi, it’s actually sort of beautiful, with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) front and centre, looking for all the world like a statue come to life. Don’t blink…
The film itself finds Katniss, having survived the Hunger Games of the first film, packed off with Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) on a “Victor’s Tour” of the various districts. With revolution and rebellion in the air and Katniss threatening to become a rallying point, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) decides something must be done. So Katniss and Peeta are sent back into the arena to face off against various previous victors from different districts. Can they survive another battle?
With Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Sam Claflin, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Jena Malone, Willow Shields and Philip Seymour Hoffman among the cast, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is out on November 21.
