It was Thorin Oakenshield's birthday yesterday – well, technically it was Richard Armitage's but they look so similar – and, being a friendly bunch, The Hobbit's crew has posted a smart new portrait of the man himself on the movie's Twitterfeed. It's a high-class birthday bumps.

The diminutive posse will be heading across perilous lands like The Misty Mountains and Mirkwood in the hope of winning back the Lonely Mountain and liberating the gold that lies in its bowels.
