There are some sequels that look to take the characters you loved in the first film and do something really different with them. And then, apparently, there’s The Hangover 2, which has now released a full trailer via Apple.
Let’s run down the list, shall we? The guys (Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and, to a lesser extent, Justin Bartha) are on a stag do. Check. They go out hungry for a night of partying. Check. They wake up unable to remember what happened in the hours before. Check. One of the party is missing. Check – though in this case, it’s Teddy (Mason Lee), the brother of Helms’ bride-to-be. In the room is a sidekick for Galifianakis. Check, though in a switch-up, it’s a monkey, not a baby, which we guess can also stand in for the tiger). Helms’ Stu has something physically troubling him. Checkity Check. And so they have to venture out and follow a list of clues to discover what happened to them, and track down Teddy. Oh, and Ken Jeong’s crazed gangster Mr Chow is back. Checkstra value.
Still, the original was embraced by audiences and made a mint at the box office, so this one has a chance at keeping the success train chugging. There’s nothing truly hilarious in the promo, but Galifianakis does deliver a few chuckles and there’s always room for some Ken Jeong madness.
