Kick-Ass 2 will allow audiences to see its cast kick at least two bottoms - perhaps even more - come its release on July 19, but for the time being we're going to have to make do with stills, posters, TV spots and trailers; trailers like this new green-band number, which you can check out below.
Of course, with this being a green-band trailer, there's zero blood or f-bombs (or c-bombs, of course), but there are dogs biting baddie's bits - as played by Benedict Wong, a.k.a. Prime from the Countdown episode of The IT Crowd - and the word bitch. Also, some feet being placed firmly on people's rear ends. Ass kicking, if you will.
There's also a bit more humour, a bit more Carrey, and less of the Hit Girl emphasis we've seen before. And don't worry, you can expect another red-band trailer before too long...
In case you were wondering, **Kick-Ass 2 **picks up the story from the original as Kick-Ass Dave (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit Girl Mindy’s (Chloë Grace Moretz) campaign has inspired a wave of self-made crusading copycats.
Dave in particular wants to focus the new vigilantes’ energy, creating a superhero team called Justice Forever alongside the crazy Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey). But when Mindy is busted as Hit Girl and forced to retire so she can go back to school, Dave must face the terrifying vengeance of Red Mist, who has restyled himself as The Mother F****r and formed his own league – of villains.
