There’s a new poster for The Grand Budapest Hotel and, we cannot tell a lie, it’s really rather marvellous. This week has already yielded an elegant motion poster for Wes Anderson’s latest; this time it’s the old-fashioned charms of an ensemble promo showcasing another wonderfully Andersony cast. Check back later today for the movie’s second trailer too. That cast in full is Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, F. Murray Abraham, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Lea Seydoux and Mathieu Amalric. Oh, and Bill Murray, of course. And Tilda Swinton. And Adrien Brody. Everyone, basically.
The story revolves around Fiennes’ Gustave H, hotel manager and serial guest lover. His travails appear to begin when a deceased client of a certain age (Swinton) turns up dead in the hotel and leaves him a valuable painting in her will - much to the distress of Brody’s Dmitri. What happens next is anyone’s guess, but there are unlikely to be too many explosions. Watch the first trailer for a closer look.
