Outside of the usual trailers, the team behind manga adaptation Ghost In The Shell have been releasing "glitches", little fragments of footage that help tell the story (or just make you wonder what the heck is going on). The latest of this blipverts is now online.
In this case, the video points to how Scarlett Johansson's character is being treated by her paymasters. Based on the title originated by Masamune Shirow, the focus is on Johansson's The Major, a special ops cyborg, head of an elite task force known as Section 9. The team, working for Hanka Robotics, is in charge of stopping dangerous criminals and extremists, and their prime target is The Laughing Man, a terrorist dedicated to wiping out all of Hanka’s cyber technology.
Pilou Asbæk is Batou, the second best fighter in the section and her trusted lieutenant, with Juliette Binoche, Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt and Kaori Momoi also appearing. Rupert Sanders directed this one, and Ghost In The Shell is out on 31 March.
