Look, if you have Dean Devlin directing a movie where there is a system designed to control the weather and Gerard Butler sharing the screen, you know what to expect: Spartaaaa! Sorry; madness! The new Geostorm trailer has arrived.
Butler here plays scientist Jake, who pops in to congressional meetings after flying down from the International Space Station. Okay, so that's not exactly routine, but here's there because there are problems with the network of satellites that make sure Earth is free from climate-based natural disasters.
Yet because this is a Dean Devlin film (his feature directorial debut, in fact, after years producing and co-writing the likes of Independence Day and 1998's Godzilla), you know things will go chaotically wrong. And when Jake and equally smart brother Max (Jim Sturgess) discover that's no accident, the race is on to protect the president of the USA (Andy Garcia) and the world from the impact.
Abbie Cornish co-stars as Secret Service agent Sarah Wilson and the cast also includes Robert Sheehan, Amr Waked, Daniel Wu and Ed Harris. It'll rain down terror in UK cinemas starting 20 October.
