Just when you thought that Paramount and Hasbro were pivoting away from team-based films in the G.I. Joe universe, word arrives via The Hollywood Reporter that another new movie is in fact in the works.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles writers Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are writing what has been described as a new ensemble pic, which has yet to score a title. One of the characters that could be introduced this time is undercover agent Philip M. Provost, AKA Chuckles. It's early days for this one, so it could all change – and, like the planned third main film, go away altogether – but it points to the studio and its toy company partner looking to keep exploiting the popular action figure line.
The other spin-off, focused on Snake Eyes, is now in pre-production, with an October 2020 release date on the books.
