We’ve been threatened with this for a few days now, but the team behind Friends with Benefits has posted a new trailer online over at the film’s official Facebook page.
And we have to say, unlike the Bad Teacher trailer, which seemed to get a smidgen less funny with the naughty words removed, the new promo for Benefits keeps the comedy quotient pretty high.
That’s largely thanks to the new footage, which features Emma Stone and Andy Samberg as the former flames of the Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis characters, and a scene stealing turn from Patricia Clarkson (who looks like she’ll be heisting moments just as she did in director Will Gluck’s previous film, Easy A).
The big question will be whether audiences will embrace another tale of friends – in this case, Timberlake’s Dylan and Kunis’ Jamie – who decide to take things to the sexual level, but aim to leave out all the messy emotional baggage that comes with it. Ivan Reitman's take, No Strings Attached, did decent business, but didn't win over many critics.
Friends with Benefits also features the likes of Woody Harrelson, Jenna Elfman and Richard Jenkins and will be out on September 2.
