Ladeeez and gennulmen, get ready for the fight of the summeeerrr! In the blue corner, weighing in at around $140 million dollars, Michael Bay’s ready-to-rumble robots, the Transformers! And in the sweaty white vest with the unshaven mug, the New York cop with attitude to spare, John McClane!
Yup, 20th Century Fox has decided that what the July 4 weekend next year really needs is a gigantic clash between two massive action films.
The freshly titled Live Free Or Die Hard will see Bruce Willis back in the vest and back on the screen in the first McClane outing since 1995’s Die Hard With A Vengeance. Len Wiseman is directing Mark Bomback’s script, which sees an attack on the States’ computers start to cause chaos in the country, and only McClane can stop the madman behind the plan. It’ll see a Stateside release on July 29, just a few days before the Robots in disguise hit the screen.
Oh, and before you ask, the studio still isn’t saying if Dodgeball’s Justin Long has won a role in the movie.
