New Christopher Robin Trailer Online

Christopher Robin

It's probably best not to describe the new trailer for Christopher Robin as "Ewan McGregor having adventures with pooh" lest people get the wrong idea. But here he is, interacting with the cuddly, honey-loving bear in the new look at Disney's blend of live-action and CG.

With heavy echoes of Hook, Marc Forster's film finds McGregor as Christopher, all grown up and a world away from his adventures in Hundred Acre Wood. Now, he's struggling to juggle that all-important work/life balance, trying to please his boss while also spending time with his family, including wife Evelyn (Hayley Atwell) and daughter Madeline (Bronte Carmichael).

When he's forced to miss a family trip, he gets a visit from Pooh (brought to life via CG, with veteran voice-over artist Jim Cummings handling the speaking role), who aims to remind him how to enjoy life again. Soon, Christopher is visiting all of the old gang, including Eeyore (Brad Garrett), Piglet (Nick Mohammed), Rabbit (Peter Capaldi), Owl (Toby Jones) and Tigger (Cummings again). Will the furry friends be able to sort out his problems? Or will they just cause more? We're assuming the former, but who knows whether Forster and McGregor have decided to go dark? Doubt the Mouse House would authorise that, but after Avengers: Infinity War, things might be different...

Christopher Robin will be in UK cinemas from 17 August, so not too long to wait now. And in case you missed it, we had Forster break down the previous trailer.
