It's been just over a month since the last trailer for new sci-fi thriller Captive State, the latest dip into such territory by director Rupert Wyatt. Here's a new look at the film, which digs further into the tension between humanity and their alien overlords...
The film, co-written with Erica Beeney, is set nearly a decade after an extraterrestrial force arrived on the planet, overcame our objections and essentially wiped out poverty and crime. But at what cost? Focusing on one Chicago neighbourhood, the story will follow various people, some who are happy to collaborate with the mysterious (thus far) alien "legislature" and those who want to fight back against them.
Key to the story here is Ashton Sanders' Gabriel, whose father died at the hands (claws? laser beams?) of the aliens and is now in the hands of a government agency. Can he continue the struggle?
Vera Farmiga, John Goodman and Alan Ruck are the among the cast here, with the movie itself due on 12 April.
