Most filmmakers would prefer that we’re all slightly in the dark about their upcoming movies – after all, it’s no fun if all the twists and turns and surprises are leaked months in advance. But then there are those that like to take the secrecy aspect a few steps further. And beyond that lot? There is JJ Abrams, and, more recently, Joss Whedon. Not content with shooting an entire film in secret in 12 days, Whedon kept entirely quiet about the horror movie he produced, The Cabin In The Woods. Now there's a new teaser poster for the film, which you can view below, but not much more info.

What do we know about the movie? Well, Whedon co-wrote the script with regular collaborator Drew Goddard, and it’s been sitting on the shelf for *aaaages *thanks to the financial wobbles at MGM.
It’s apparently a fresh tweak of horror tropes, with the synopsis simply reading, “Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen.” But… That’s about all anyone knows.
Oh, we know it stars Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connolly, Jodelle Ferland, Anna Hutchinson, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins. Not all of those people will make it through the running time alive, we're saying.
Ain’t It Cool News got the chance to premiere the poster, and Harry Knowles was granted a phone interview with Whedon and Goddard, where they largely played coy about specific details, revealing the odd character name and teasing other elements. If you want to remain totally spoiler free (we bet Whedon would prefer it that way), avoid this link to the interview.
The Cabin In The Woods will be out on April 13, 2012.
