Back in September, the first teaser trailer for Angry Birds – yes, based on the massively popular game – arrived to show us what’s in store for the film. The new teaser poster makes us think a longer promo could be on the way, but perhaps we’re just paranoid.

The film’s premise has the naive and surprisingly mellow birds living in peaceful climes - the perma-fiery Red (Jason Sudeikis) aside. Co-directors Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly introduce us to a world full of knowing nods – a Birds And Bees Fertility Clinic and an Early Bird Worm Shop are two fixtures on the avian island – in which flightless birds live in harmony, still unmolested by troublesome pigs.

There’s also speedster Chuck (Josh Gad), anger management therapist Matilda (Maya Rudolph), and the self-explanatory Bomb (Danny McBride). But then, joining the jamboree as initially innocent visitors from over the horizon, come a bunch of nautical pigs. Eggs get filched and war is soon declared. Bill Hader voices a pig. And gives us serious loyalty issues.

Angry Birds flaps onto UK shores on May 13 next year. Until then, enjoy the hatchlings from the film doing their best to sing a festive carol. Parents, try to tamp down the terrifying flashbacks to school nativity plays and concerts.
