There's not long to wait now until the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods hits screens on both sides of the pond. In anticipation of the show's arrival next month, a new trailer is now online.

American Gods has lead writers Bryan Fuller and Michael Green updating and expanding Gaiman's world in which old gods and new clash and compete for worshippers.

Into this bizarre conflict comes ex-con Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), recruited by Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), a charming, devious sort looking to marshal his fellow old gods against the threat of the new. The ranks of the established deities includes Easter (Kristen Chenoweth), Peter Stormare's Czernobog and Jonathan Tucker's Low Key Lyesmith.

They're facing the rise of newer gods such as Media (Gillian Anderson), Mr. World (Crispin Glover) and Technical Boy (Bruce Langley), who are starting to replace the others as human priorities shift.

American Gods kicks off on Stars in the States on 30 April and 1 May in the UK via Amazon Prime Video.
