Through production, the Alien: Covenant team has been sharing images as the movie shoots. Now, as the final shots (not counting any potential re-shoots) are captured, a new image of Katherine Waterston has arrived online.

Ridley Scott has been hard at work on the follow-up to Prometheus, which finds the Covenant colony ship headed for a remote planet, a place that the crew initially thinks is an uncharted paradise but turns out to be dark and full of terrors. And the only inhabitant is synthetic life form David (Michael Fassbender), who claims to be the lone survivor of the Prometheus mission.

Waterston plays a character named Daniels and from the look of the image above, will at some point be kitted out in a way that is very reminiscent of Sigourney Weaver's Ripley. Well, Scott has said that he's heading towards the events of his original 1979 Alien.

Noomi Rapace headed to the set a month or so before it finished filming, but we don't yet know whether she'll be part of a flashback or actually show up to interact with team Covenant, which also includes Demián Bichir, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Billy Crudup and Danny McBride among its crew complement.

Alien: Covenant is out on August 4 next year.
