Joss Whedon's TV Avengers spin-off Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is just six weeks from its US launch date. The pilot has been shown at Comic-Con and to a few journalists in the States - who aren't really allowed to talk about it yet - but it's a game of retweeting that's led to the reveal of this poster. Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen each had a piece, and when finally put together thousands of retweets later, they looked like this.
The details of the first episode are subject to an embargo at the moment, but Whedon, Gregg and a handful of other company members were on-hand last night for the Television Critics Association, giving those who weren't at Comic-Con a chance to get up to speed.

Whedon says that they're still working out the synergies between the TV series and future Marvel movies: "The show has to work for people who haven't seen those movies and won't be seeing them. It's not an easter egg farm."
Nobody's yet revealing how Agent Coulson survived what happened to him in Avengers Assemble. That will apparently be a running thread in the first season.
Gregg says he was worried that, after the blow-out of the pilot, the second episode would have the team stuck in an elevator to keep the budget down. But fear not: episode two is even bigger!
Part of the pilot takes place in Paris, and the idea is to make the rest of the series similarly international. Generally that will be achieved with trickery, but sometimes it will mean actual location shooting.
Whedon says that the whole idea of a non-superpowered team was what most appealed to him. "It's about the people who didn't get the hammer, and the idea that everybody matters. The people who get shunted aside in the movies now get to take the spotlight. The show is very much about that sense of, 'What about the rest of us? How do we cope with a world that now has aliens and gods?"
