Alan Partridge has made the switch, The Inbetweeners and Dad’s Army too. Now it’s the time of Patsy and Edina to scale up for a big screen adventure, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. Judging by the new trailer, it can only end amid piles of broken champagne bottles, fag butts and wrecked egos.
The pair of tipsy fashion PRs head to the French Riviera after trying to win Kate Moss as a client and accidentally killing her instead. Or so they think. There’s a tonne of familiar faces cameoing, including a bitchy Stella McCartney, Gwendoline Christie, Jon Hamm and at least one of The Spice Girls.
Mandie Fletcher is calling the shots on this one, working from Jennifer Saunders’ script, with her Edina and Joanna Lumley's Patsy joined, as you might expect by Julia Sawalha’s Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble and June Whitfield as Mother.
