Is there anything that could make us more eager to see Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours after watching the footage at this year’s Movie-Con, or catching the first trailer? As it turns out, yes there is: it’s called the second trailer. And it’s superb.
This latest promo gives even more insight into the world of climber/adventurer and (to his own camera, at least) entertainer Aron Ralston (James Franco), as he scrambles, bikes, hikes and scales the rocks of Utah. Far from being the perfect hero, he’s a human being: a little arrogant, a little wayward, but utterly believable when a serious mishap leaves him stranded in a darkened canyon with one hand trapped beneath a fallen boulder.
Boyle’s taken the gut-wrenching true story and weaved his usual magic on it, and it looks like another winner of a performance from Franco.
The trailer’s over at Apple. The only problem we have is that we’ll need to wait until January 7 for it to hit our cinemas.
