With only a few weeks to go until its release, Warner Bros has released a new trailer for 10,000 B.C., which you can see here. We think this is looking pretty great.
Sure, there's a story of a young man (Steven Strait) on a quest to rescue his gal (Camilla Belle), but we don't really care about the plot in this case. We're far more excited to see Strait's character chased by several million dollars worth of really good looking CG.
This seems to be essentially a chase movie, with the chasers being various ancient creatures, including mammoths, a sabretooth tiger and some giant birds that we don't know the name for. When we were shown some early footage a few months ago, director Roland Emmerich said that the thing that was proving really tricky to get right, effects-wise, was the wet fur on the sabretooth and the feathers on the giant birds. Looks like they've pulled off both brilliantly.
This is Roland Emmerich, so we're not expecting a lot of depth and classic dialogue. We're just hoping for some great fun action entertainment. What do you think?
