Legacy sequels continue to be A Thing, particularly in horror, with Scream the latest to perform at the box office. Netflix is hoping to channel some of that power with its new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which has a full trailer online. Prepare for Leatherface peek-a-boo!

The story here is of Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson), who head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture.

But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents — including Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), the sole survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre who’s hell-bent on seeking revenge.

Originally produced by Legacy, this new horror looks to leapfrog pretty much all of the sequels/prequels/reboots and tie to Tobe Hooper's first slasher. It faced its own challenges along the way, not the least of which was a director swap, with David Blue Garcia taking the reins.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre will hit the streaming service on 18 February.
