Horror and, to a lesser extent, romance, have brought omnibus films back from the dead in recent years, with the likes of** V/H/S and The ABCs Of Death** proving successful (if not always reliably great). There’s another portmanteau batch of terror on the way, with directors including Neil Marshall, Darren Bousman, Axelle Carolyn, Paul Solet and Adam Gierasch aboard to scare us all with **Tales Of Halloween.
And they’re not alone, with John Skipp, Andrew Kasch, Mike Mendez, Dave Parker, Ryan Schifrin and Joe Begos making up the rest of the 11 directors who will oversee 10 segments between them. It’s all thanks to a brainwave from Carolyn, who had the idea to gather the group from the loose connection of horror directors who hang in LA and call themselves The October Society.
“It’s so great to be working with such a unique and talented group of directors,” Marshall tells Deadline. “Many of The October Society have been friends for years, so when Axelle had the idea of combining our talents for an anthology based on our mutual love of Halloween and all things scary, it was a no-brainer.”
Naturally they waited until today to announce the project, which will be scaring up deals at the American Film Market next month, with shooting also set for November.
