Netflix's adaptation of Daniel Handler's book series Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events proved to be a fun and suitably weird take in its first season, and the streaming service was quick to announce a second. Joining the cast for the new run of episodes are Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Lucy Punch, Sara Rue and Roger Bart.

Only Fillion's role was included in The Wrap's report on the casting news – he'll be the brother of Snicket, the show's "writer" and narrator, as brought to life by Patrick Warburton.

The other current cast includes Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes and Presley Smith as Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, who find themselves orphaned and shunted around different foster carers, usually either oddball members of their family or friends of their parents and more often than not plagued by the schemes of the conniving Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris).

Netflix announced the new season in March, but has yet to specify when the show will return. We'd expect it to be a similar time period given that Season 1 kicked off in January this year.
