He may have been unsuccessful in bringing aboard old mucker Michael Rooker for The Suicide Squad (though we still figure he'll show up somewhere), but James Gunn will be working with two people he's previously put in his movies: Nathan Fillion and Steve Agee.

Fillion, the Firefly and Castle veteran who has appeared in several Gunn films, will play someone that the filmmaker is keeping quiet for now. Agee, meanwhile, who was one of the Ravagers in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, is providing the voice of King Shark (the role Rooker was rumoured to be filling).

Hinted at for a while as part of Gunn's chosen line-up for his take on the team of villains and anti-heroes forcibly recruited to tackle dangerous missions. King Shark was created by Karl Kesel in 1994. The supervillain is a humanoid shark and the son of Chondrakha, the God of all Sharks. Introduced as a Superboy villain, King Shark has been a member of the Secret Six, the Secret Society of Super-Villains and the Suicide Squad.

Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis and Joel Kinnaman are all returning for the new movie, with new recruits including Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior and John Cena.

The Suicide Squad is taking aim at a 21 August, 2021 release in the UK.
