Given that Liam Neeson has proved once again that he’s an action box-office powerhouse with Taken 2, Joel Silver will be even happier that he convinced him to reunite with Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra for airline thriller Non-Stop. They’ve begun building the cast around him, and have selected someone with cinematic flying experience, as Red Tails’ Nate Parker is aboard.
Non-Stop finds Neeson as a federal air marshal who faces a tricky problem aboard a jumbo jet. See, there’s an embittered American terrorist threatening to slaughter a passenger every 20 minutes unless our hero offs himself.
Parker will be another man aboard the flight, who helps Neeson figure out the terrorist’s scheme.
John Richardson and Chris Roach have written the script, and Collet-Serra is aiming to have it filming in New York within the next few weeks. Parker, meanwhile, will be seen in financial drama Arbitrage, Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints. He’s also signed on to appear in Lee’s remake of Oldboy.
