Natalie Portman has been busy recently returning to the MCU as Jane Foster for Thor: Love And Thunder, but once her time wielding incredible power is over, she'll be turning her attention back to other jobs. And she's just added another potential film to her To Do list via HBO's The Days Of Abandonment.
Maggie Betts is on board to write and direct the film adaptation of Elena Ferrante's bestseller. The Days Of Abandonment revolves around Tess (Portman), who abandoned her own dreams for a stable home life. When she, in turn is abandoned by her husband, her world is thrown off its axis. The story is described as "a journey into the mind of a woman in crisis that confronts the norms of motherhood and female identity as Tess traverses the darkest reaches of her own psyche..."
Portman will also produce the film via her MountainA company, but there's no word yet on when this one will shoot.
