Going into space, and the fresh perspective it provides, can have profound effects on people. Just ask the likes of Commander Chris Hadfield or Colonel Buzz Aldrin, one of the few humans to walk the surface of the Moon. But for Natalie Portman's Lucy Cola, the transcendence can lead to something a little less thrilling once back on Earth. Check out the new trailer for Lucy In The Sky.
Legion and Fargo writer/producer Noah Hawley makes his directorial debut with the film, which is loosely based on real events. Lucy is so impacted by her time in orbit that when she touches down she starts to lose touch with reality in a world that seems too small. Married to Dan Stevens' Drew, she starts an affair with fellow NASA type Mark Goodwin (Jon Hamm), and the story spirals from there. Soon, she's skipping psychological consultations and driven to return to space even at the expense of her sanity.
With the likes of Nick Offerman, Zazie Beetz, Colman Domingo and Ellen Burstyn in the cast, Lucy In The Sky lands in US cinemas on 4 October before rocketing over here on 6 December.
