The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone clearly considers Nat Wolff his good luck charm. Having cast him in both Stars and his previous movie, Stuck In Love, he’s now hired him as one of the leads in **The Stand{
Boone is the latest director hired by Warner Bros. to tackle the daunting task of turning Stephen King’s sprawling post-apocalyptic tale into a film. Scott Cooper, Ben Affleck and David Yates have come and gone in recent years, and Boone is the man Warners has working on a way to film the story of good fighting evil in an America where most of the population has been wiped out by a catastrophic virus.
Nothing is known about who Wolff might play in the film, as the director is reportedly writing a character specifically for him. Whether that turns out to be one of the people from the book, or at least someone based on them, is something we’ll have to wait and see.
It’s not the only King tale that Boone is considering shooting, nor his closest connection to the prolific author. He won King’s attention when he wrote to him aged 12, and more recently secured the rights to adapt Lisey’s Story. **The Stand **will, however, be the writer-director’s next job.
Wolff is also set to appear in another film adapted from Stars author John Green’s work, as he’s part of the cast for** Paper Town****s**. Adapted by Fault screenwriting duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, it’s still looking for a director. The Fault In Our Stars, meanwhile, will be out here on June 19.
