Just because she now spends some of the time in the big-budget Bond world, Naomie Harris hasn’t stopped finding smaller indie movies to work on{
Director Barry Jenkins adapted the script from Tarell McCraney’s book Black Boys Look Blue, and the story follows a young man dealing with growing up in Miami during one of the heightened periods of the War on Drugs. With Brad Pitt’s Plan B company producing and A24 providing the financing, Jenkins is has started the cameras rolling in Miami after tracking down newcomers Alex R. Hibbert and Jaden Piner from an open casting call in local schools and colleges.
Harris, Ali and Holland all have differing levels of acting experience under their belts, but the first-timers also include Monae, usually found singing songs such as Many Moons and Tightrope. And Harris, of course, is headed back to our screens with the new 007 outing, Spectre, due here on October 26 and in the States on November 6.
