Last year, a sci-fi comedy hit the news radar called Distant, which was to star Hamilton's Anthony Ramos and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's Rachel Brosnahan. Things have changed since then – while Ramos is still aboard, Aladdin's Naomi Scott is now his co-star.

Spenser Cohen's script finds Ramos as an asteroid miner who, after crash-landing on an alien planet, must contend with the challenges of his new surroundings, while making his way across the harsh terrain to the only other survivor – a woman (Scott) who is trapped in her escape pod.

Blades Of Glory duo Will Speck and Josh Gordon are on to direct, with Amblin Partners backing the movie. With the casting coming together, this one should be shooting soon, though it might still be delayed because of the pandemic.
