It’s Musical Chairs In The New Game Of Thrones Teaser

Game Of Thrones Season 6 Episode 10

We know all too well that the team behind Game Of Thrones would feed their own grandmothers to a pack of hungry hounds before they gave away anything of substance in a teaser. So that explains the new video for the series, which features Lena Headey's Cersei Lannister, Kit Harington's Jon Snow and Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Targaryen all taking a seat in their various chambers.

It is, of course, a honking great metaphor for the coming conflict, which will see the three leaders battling for supremacy, while also dealing with the slightly important matter that, listed as "coming" for ages, Winter has well and truly arrived and The Night King is here to ruin everything.

So yes... no actual footage from the show at this point (they'd be forgiven for trusting in just this sort of teaser even up to the day the show returns to our screens given its following), and we're also faced with the fact that this seventh season will only comprise seven episodes (the seventh episode of a seventh season is likely to be blessed with magical powers) even as the show ramps up to its big finish.

Game Of Thrones is ready to chill us to the bone starting 16 July on HBO, with the usual simulcast on Sky Atlantic in the early hours of 17 July before a repeat that evening at a much more sensible time.
