As anyone looking to cast Bill Murray in their film knows, he’s notoriously difficult to track down. And even if you do manage to get your script into his hands, there’s every chance it’ll just sit somewhere in his house for ages before he’ll even glance at it. But Roman Coppola has an advantage – his younger sister is Sofia Coppola, who helped Murray snag an Oscar nomination for Lost In Translation, and he’s also closely linked with Wes Anderson and his regular acting ensemble, which Murray is part of. So it’s less surprising than usual to learn that the actor has agreed to star in the director’s next movie, Inside The Mind Of Charles Swan III.
The film’s already generating quizzical interest, mainly due to its star – Charlie Sheen is on boardto play the title character. He’s a successful graphic designer who lives a seemingly perfect life, but one that is thrown into chaos when his girlfriend breaks up with him. Plunged into a maelstrom of doubt and reflection, his world becomes filled with odd fantasies.
Alongside Murray, Patricia Arquette and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have also signed on, joining a cast that already includes Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza and Katheryn Winnick.
Writer/director Coppola is shooting the film right now in LA.
