Conspiracy-minded hacker drama Mr. Robot might have faced some criticism for its more meandering plot lines in its current, second season, but that hasn't stopped it earning plenty of buzz (and award nominations) across the pond. And now US producers USA Network has renewed the series for a third run of episodes.

Available over here on Amazon Prime Video, Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek as Elliot Anderson, who in the second season is dealing with the fallout from the massive hack he was part of that essentially took down corporate America. His life is not helped by – spoiler alert – the delusions that continue to pester his brain, even as he worries they might not be quite as fantastical as he thinks. Christian Slater and Portia Doubleday also feature in the series, created by Sam Esmail, who took the unusual step this year of writing the final draft and directing every episode in the 10-episode run. It might not have held on to the high ratings it generated for the first, but it remains important in other ways.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Mr. Robot, a series that has pushed boundaries, captured the cultural zeitgeist and been honored as one of the best dramas on television," says NBCUniversal Cable boss Chris McCumber. "Midway through its second season, Mr. Robot continues to break new ground and open up new opportunities for the network. We can’t wait to see where series creator Sam Esmail and the entire brilliant Robot team take us next.”
