Having tackled military/emotional matters in The Messenge****r and LAPD corruption in the upcoming Rampart, it would appear that the next target for writer/director Oren Moverman might be the War on Terror. He’s just signed on to adapt a New York magazine profile called The Terrorist Search Engine for **Social Network **producer Scott Rudin.

Written by Wesley Yang, the profile followed young counter-terrorism expert Evan Kohlmann. Kohlmann was dubbed “the Doogie Howser of Terrorism” by the FBI agents he worked alongside, largely because by the time he was 23 his experience trawling through Jihadist videos, web sites and communications led him to testify against and successfully help to convict 23 terrorism suspects.

So… A young man, involved in something technical and controversial with Scott Rudin producing and Sony backing the development? It may not shock you to learn that Rudin is thinking the script could snag Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg to star. As reported back in May by the team at Vulture, Eisenberg is said to be intrigued, but wants to see a screenplay first. Hiring Moverman (his deal apparently only covers scribbling chores for now) could be the first step to winning Eisenberg over…
