Crash co-writer Bobby Moresco will adapt Mike Lupica’s novel Heat.

The forthcoming book focuses on a 12-year-old Cuban immigrant to the States who is a baseball prodigy finally free of parental control and living with his brother near Yankee Stadium in New York. He dreams of playing in the Little League World Series until a rival accuses him of being too old to join.

There’s no director or cast attached yet, though Moresco has just directed his first film, 10th And Wolf, which stars Val Kilmer and Giovanni Ribisi, so he may take a swing at it.
