***UPDATE: ***The Pythons will appear on stage together for a special one-off show - or, more than one-off show, should the one-off show be successful - at the O2 in London, on July 1, 2014. Tickets will be avilable from Monday, November 25, at MontyPythonLive.com.

Eric Idle has been tweeting not-so-subtle hints over the past few days, but now BBC News has confirmed that the Flying Circus will resume when Team Monty Python reunite for a stage show. Say no more, say no more... Okay, we'll say a little bit more.

"We're getting together and putting on a show - it's real," Jones told the BBC. "I'm quite excited about it. I hope it makes us a lot of money. I hope to be able to pay off my mortgage!"

More details will emerge on Thursday, when a press conference - held at The Playhouse Theatre, London home of **The Holy Grail'**s musical spin-off Spamalot - will reveal more about the show. If put on in 2014, the performance will mark 26 years since the team last worked together, back in 1988 at the Aspen Comedy Festival.

Since then, some but not all of the remaining Pythons have appeared in feature films together. 1996's The Wind In The Willows saw John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin and Terry Jones sharing the screen, with the latter also writing and directing. Terry Gilliam was busy doing **12 Monkeys **(1995), then Fear And Loathing In Last Vegas (1998) at the time, so we can let him off on that front.

Gilliam's latest feature film, The Zero Theorem, is released in the UK on March 14 next year. Spamalot, meanwhile, is still doing great business in the West End, and for more on that, silly songs and falling over in public, listen to Eric Idle in this special **Empire Podcast.
