We've known for a while that Disney plans to make the most of the various labels it owns on its Disney+ streaming service, already announcing shows from the Star Wars galaxy and live-action/animated movies from its own studio. Pixar is getting in on the action, with a show based on Monsters, Inc. in the works.
Monsters At Work will be set six months after the original film, which saw the famed scare facility switching over its power supply from the screams of frightened children to their laughter and joy. The show follows Tylor Tuskmon (Ben Feldman), an eager and talented mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working on the Laugh Floor alongside Mike and Sulley.
Billy Crystal and John Goodman are back as the main pair, while the likes of Bob Peterson (Roz), John Ratzenberger (Yeti), Jennifer Tilly (Celia) are all on to return. Alongside Feldman, the new voices include Kelly Marie Tran, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Stanton and Aisha Tyler.
While Pete Docter directed the original film (alongside David Silverman), his current job running Pixar itself means he's a little busy to work on the series, which will be overseen by Roberts Gannaway. There's no word yet on when the show will premiere, but Disney+ should be launching later this year.
