Screenwriter William Monahan is developing a thing for adapting Asian thrillers. After doing a bang up job on The Departed, he's now readying to write a Hollywood version of Korean thriller The Chaser.
The film could reunite Monahan with one of the stars of The Departed. Leonardo DiCaprio is mulling over the role of an ex-cop on the hunt for a missing girl, who may or may not be dead, being used by a serial killer to taunt the police.
Monahan will also serve as producer. No director is yet on board.
