What can we say, except... the first trailer for Disney Animation sequel Moana 2 has officially arrived. You’re welcome! Yes, it’s almost time to head back to Motonui, as the Polynesian princess heads back to the big screen for a new adventure. Auli’i Cravalho is back to voice the titular character, and Dwayne Johnson also returns as shape-shifting demigod Maui. Watch the trailer here:

This second film is set three years after the original, and sees Moana heading off on a new voyage after receiving a message from past generations. As she says in the trailer, “This is a call from the ancestors, to sail to new skies, and reconnect our people across the entire ocean.” Cue some gorgeous sun-soaked animation, showing Moana exploring the depths of the ocean, experiencing a mystical lightning strike, and venturing into new lands. She won’t be voyaging alone, of course, as she’s reunited with Maui – plus Alan Tudyk’s Hei Hei, the mischievous rooster, already up to no good. One person who isn’t back, however, is Lin-Manuel Miranda on music – those reins have been handed over to viral sensations and composers of the unofficial Bridgerton musical songs, Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear.

How far will this go in comparison to the first movie? No one knows – yet. We’ll find out on 27 November, when Moana 2 splashes into cinemas.
