As production enters a pause between the next two Mission: Impossible movies, with the seventh now wrapped (or wrapping) production and the eighth awaiting its full start, director Christopher McQuarrie has hit Instagram to revel some new casting choices who all – assuming the hashtags on his posts pan out – will show up in both films. Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, Mark Gatiss and Charles Parnell are all in the expending ensemble.
Naturally, McQuarrie and star Tom Cruise have been coming up with some new, audacious stunts to fill the screen for the next two M:I entries, with returning veterans Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, and (in a blast from the past reaching back to the first movie) Henry Czerny boosted by other new recruits, including Pom Klementieff, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham and Esai Morales.
Mission: Impossible 7 will debut in November this year, followed by the eighth a year later. McQuarrie's podcast sit-down with our Chris Hewitt is expected to follow around the time the first film lands and, if history is anything to go by, will still be happening when the second movie arrives.
