Warner Bros. may not be rushing to make a sequel to last year's Birds Of Prey, but the studio hasn't forgotten about the various characters who surrounded Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. According to Cinelinx, the company is developing a new project based around Jurnee Smollett's Black Canary, with Lovecraft Country's Misha Green on board to write the script.

The site has heard that this could either be a series or a movie, though given HBO Max's push towards movies around characters such as Batgirl and Blue Beetle, a film sounds likely.

This would see Smollett and Green reunite after working on Lovecraft Country, which despite a lot of buzz (and awards talk) was not renewed following its first season. Whatever shape this new project takes, it seems certain to follow more of Dinah Lance after her team-up with Harley and the rest. DC has another FanDome event scheduled for later this year, so we can expect more information then, if not before.
