No, this headline doesn't mean that Mischa Barton is Bruce Willis' new girlfriend. Instead, the Orange County alum is going back to school for black comedy The Sophomore. But there she'll be starring alongside one Rumer Willis (aka daughter of Bruce and Demi) and her pa Bruce.
The story is, rather intriguingly, described as a teen spin on Chinatown with Barton playing the most popular girl in her Catholic high school. She persuades a sophomore reporter to investigate the theft of some SAT exams, but when he finds evidence that the school president and star jock are responsible, things take a turn for the sinister. We're guessing, however, that neither of them turns out to be Barton's father.
Rumer Willis will play Barton's trouble-making sidekick, while Brucie himself will play the school's headmaster, a Gulf War I vet who can't let go of his Kuwait glory days.
Brent Simon is directing a script by Tim Calpin and Kevin Jakubowski, all of whom are making their big-screen debuts on this film (formerly titled 'The Assassination of A High School President', which we hope isn't a spoiler) so let's wish them all luck. Shooting's due to start in August, so expect to see this in the first half of next year.
