Hollywood is back on the Shakespeare beat, and in a re-imagining mood for Rosaline, which offers a different perspective on Romeo And Juliet. And Minnie Driver is the latest addition to the cast.
Karen Maine is attached to direct, working from a script by _ Days Of Summer_ duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Based on the novel When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle, the movie is a modern twist on the classic Shakespeare tale. "The most famous love story ever told" is seen through the eyes of Juliet’s (Isabela Merced) cousin Rosaline (Kaitlyn Dever), a sharp but idealistic young woman who happens to be Romeo’s (Kyle Allen) recent ex. Driver will play the Nurse, and the cast also includes Sean Teale and Bradley Whitford.
Though the movie originated at MGM, it has since been shopped around and 20th Century Studio has snapped it up, with Shawn Levy attached to produce via his 21 Laps company.
