They both blew us away with hunger strike drama Hunger, and now director Steve McQueen and star Michael Fassbender are re-teaming for Shame, a story of sex addiction that's already won plaudits at the Venice Film Festival, where it premiered. And here's the teaser poster for the film, which is...suggestive rather than explicit, let's say.
Along with A Dangerous Method, in which he plays Carl Jung, this is the second of what we've dubbed Michael Fassbender's Sexy Crisis movies. This one sees him play a sex addict, with Carey Mulligan playing his sister. Since there's a lot of, well, sex and full-frontal nudity throughout, this is going to be a tough sell in the US especially, where it's likely to get an NC-17 rating, but the rave reviews should help it get noticed.
Shame is out in the UK on January 13, 2012, and will be playing during the London Film Festival, which starts next week.
