Paul WS Anderson and Milla Jovovich have spent years collaborating on the Resident Evil franchise, and after they wrapped their take on it up, they jumped to Monster Hunter. Now they're getting out of the game adaptation field altogether, switching tracks to an adaptation of Game Of Thrones novelist George RR Martin's In The Lost Lands, which will also star Dave Bautista.
In the movie, a queen, desperate to fulfill her love, makes a daring play: she hires the sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich), a woman as feared as she is powerful. Sent to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands, Alys and her guide, the drifter Boyce (Bautista), must outwit and outfight man and demon in this fable that explores the nature of good and evil, debt and fulfillment, love and loss.
Adaptations of Martin's work haven't always found success outside of Thrones, but Anderson and Jovovich will be hoping this can beat the curse.
